Geoffrey Heath WedgwoodEnglish engraver and graphic artist, 1900–1977

Born in Leek, Staffordshire. After service with the British Army, he studied at the Liverpool School of Art from 1919 to 1921.He also attended the British School in Rome winning the Prix de Rome for engraving in 1925. He later taught at the Liverpool Institute from 1932 to 1935 and at the Liverpool School of Art from 1935 until his retirement in 1960. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1934.

Wedgwood produced a fine and distinctive body of topographical works in a combination of etching, drypoint and line engraving. These beautifully precise views are chiefly architectural in content, although G. H. Wedgwood invariably introduces highly stylized and charmingly observed local figures to add a sense of activity to his compositions.
