Ernest William WatsonAmerican artist and editor, 1884–1969

Born in Conway, Massachusetts, Watson attended the Massachusetts Normal Art School in Boston and the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, where he later taught. He was a founder of the Berkshire School of Art and a founder of Watson-Gupthill Publications, which published instructional books on art, as well as the magazine American Artist, where Watson served as editor-in-chief.
