Quita Brodhead

Born in Wilmington, Delaware, Brodhead studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts with Arthur B. Carles and in Paris. Primarily an abstract painter, Brodhead was an instructor of painting at Bryn Mawr College and active in the Philadelphia art scene for most of her long life. In 2001, the Pennsylvania Academy organized a major retrospective of her work in honor of her 100th birthday.
