Mary Smyth PerkinsAmerican artist, 1875–1931

Mary Smyth Perkins (Mrs. William F. Taylor) studied with Henri, probably at the Philadelphia School of Design for Women when he taught there between 1892 and 1895. She later studied at the Pennsylvania Academy and in Paris. She was friendly with Sloan and Henri in New York around 1907. Later, she taught at Converse College in Spartanburg, S.C. and invited Sloan and Henri to exhibit there.
