Claudia DeMonte

Claudia DeMonte was born in Astoria, New York and received her undergraduate degree from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and her master of fine arts degree from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. The artist is known both for her female-centered sculptures and installations as well as her curatorial practice centered on exhibitions celebrating the work of women artists. DeMonte has an extensive exhibition history beginning in the 1970s and is featured in numerous corporate and public collections including the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Speed Art Museum, and the Modern Art Museums in Salerno, Italy, among many others.
