Keiko MinamiJapanese painter, printmaker, and illustrator, 1911–2004

Keiko Minami was a Japanese painter, printmaker, and illustrator best known for her work for UNESCO and UNICEF greetings cards and book illustrations. Minami was born in Toyama, Japan and studied under Miro Yoshio and Hamaguchi Yozo, whom she later married. In 1959, she was named official artist of the United Nations for her print, Tree of Peace, and in 1961, she and her husband settled in San Francisco. In addition to receiving solo exhibitions, her prints were produced and distributed by Associated American Artists.
