Audrey FlackAmerican painter, draftsman, and sculptor, 1931–2024

Audrey Flack studied at Yale University and the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University in 1952 and 1953. As with many of her contemporaries working in New York in the early 1950s, Flack was influenced by Abstract Expressionism. She reacted against the movement, producing feminist paintings in a photorealistic style. Beginning in the 1980s, Flack made large sculptures based on female deities.
