Sidney Goodman

A Philadelphia native, Goodman graduated from Philadelphia College of Art (now University of the Arts) in 1958. His figural painting earned him early critical success. He began teaching at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1978 and retired from that institution in 2011. His work is in the collections of many major museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
