Helen Noel

Illinois artist Helen Noel attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Best known for her ceramics, she was also an illustrator, printmaker, sculptor, and painter. In the 1930s, she was employed in Chicago's District 10 Art Division of the W.P.A. She taught pottery at the Jewish Community Center in Chicago. She married Dr. Robert M. Shagam. Starting around 1960, she exhibited pottery frequently in the Chicago area as Helen Noel Shagam.
