André HarveyAmerican sculptor, 1941–2018

Born in Florida in 1941, André Harvey was educated at the University of Virginia and was a Fellow of the National Sculpture Society. He utilized the lost wax process, sculpting his figures and animals in clay first and then pouring molten bronze into a ceramic mold. Harvey also created intricate figurative jewelry, sculpting those forms directly in wax before casting into gold. The artist participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States and abroad and is included in the holdings of the Arkansas Art Center, Brandywine River Museum, Delaware Art Museum, and Mississippi Museum of Art, among other public and corporate collections. Harvey maintained a studio and gallery along the Brandywine River in Greenville, Delaware.
