Yasumasa Morimura

Yasumasa Morimura is a contemporary Japanese performance and appropriation artist whose work encompasses photography, film, and live performance. Morimura studied at Kyoto City University of Arts and received his bachelor of fine arts degree in 1978. He has exhibited his work at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo, the Yokohama Museum of Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Photography, Tokyo. Morimura's work is included in numerous museums throughout Japan, the United States, and abroad.
