Richard NelsonAmerican printmaker and musician, born 1954

Richard Nelson (born 1954) studied in Houston, TX at Rice University, he studied engraving with Swiss printmaker Dadi Wirz and subsequently worked at Atelier 17 in Paris. For twenty years (1977-1997), Nelson worked alongside Robert Blackburn, teaching and creating art at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop in New York City. In addition to his printmaking, Nelson is also a musician and has incorporated imagery relating to music into his artwork. His work has been exhibited at many institutions including, the San Francisco Museum of Art, Richmond Art Center, and the Kingsley Art Club.
