Asa CheffetzAmerican printmaker, 1896–1965

Asa Cheffetz was a master of wood engraving and woodcut printing. He was born in Buffalo, New York, and studied at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, with Philip Leslie Hale, and at the National Academy of Design in New York. Cheffetz exhibited widely and won prestigious awards for his Regionalist prints. Cheffetz kept a studio in Springfield, Massachusetts, and frequently depicted rural New England.
