Label TextThe Latin inscription from the Roman poet Horace refers to “the sweet solace of labor” – Haden’s commentary on the art of etching. Haden noted that the discipline of etching helped steady his hand for surgery. This was the frontispiece for his Études à l’eau forte (Studies in Etching).
