Label TextSloan went to see his first aviation demonstration at Belmont Park on October 26, 1910, occasioning one of the most interesting comments on modern media culture in his diary: "So much does one become familiarized by photographs and 'moving picture' films with strange inventions of this popular sort that the first sight of the actual object loses some of its surprise."
