Label TextRalph Barton was among the most popular caricaturists of the 1920s. Here he illustrates a poem by Walt Mason, known as the poet of the people for his homespun stories and poems. The visual parodies mock both urban and rural characters to a grotesque degree, manipulating distortion of the figures for satiric purposes.
