Label TextPapa Hoorn's Tulip is a story about the 17th century Dutch "tulipmania," when bulbs for the coveted flower brought higher and higher prices, causing an economic crisis. Pyle's silhouettes complement a tale suitable for both
children and adults.

Here, Papa Hoorn rejoices that he now owns a rare, "jump(s) five times up in the air," and dances with precious object in his left hand. His comment fulfills the promise of his daughter's hand in marriage to the man who obtained the bulb for him.
