Label TextLouis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933), the son of Charles Lewis Tiffany one of the founders of Tiffany's, was originally trained as a landscape painter. In the 1870s he turned his inquisitive mind to the decorative arts saying, "There is more in it than in painting pictures." His interest in decorative arts objects evolved from his experience as part of team of interior decorators called Associated Artists to the creation of his own glass firm, Louis C. Tiffany and Company in 1878. Tiffany's art interests remained broad throughout his life, so too were his connections to and his work with other artists and designers.
