Label TextBeginning around 1950, Pousette-Dart produced a series of what he called "predominantly white paintings" that combine graphite pencil and titanium white paint, among other materials. Although the canvases appear nearly monochromatic at a distance, closer examination reveals a startling range of colors, including yellow, gray, and purple.
