Label TextThe subject of this strange canvas was described in a profile on Pittman in Life magazine: "Miss Pat and Miss Eva Lion were next-door neighbors of the Pittmans. Here the artist recalls the thrill he used to feel as a child when he visited the spinster sisters, and Miss Pat, at the square piano sang in a tremulous voice such songs as Annie Laurie and Juanita."
