Label TextThis drawing relates to Sloan's 1928 etching of the old Tammany Hall building on Fourteenth Street. In 1934, under the auspices of the New Deal Public Works of Art Program, Sloan painted a picture based on this etching. This drawing may have been a study for the original etching or part of Sloan's effort to transform the etching into a painting.
