Label TextMassachusetts native John Wolcott Adams specialized in American historical scenes and costume. By 1911, this was somewhat of a niche in illustration as many artists catered to the more popular taste for contemporary subjects. He was often commissioned to illustrate the imagery of traditional holidays seen in this humorous vignette for which Adams created both the lettering and the drawings.
