Label TextThe commission to create a monument to Delaware's Caesar Rodney was highly challenging, even for a seasoned public sculptor like Kelly. The commissioners required multiple revisions to the sculpture, including a complete redesign of the horse. Then, when the monument was unveiled, they failed even to credit the artist in the brochure.
