Label TextPyle student Charlotte Harding Brown worked as an illustrator until 1917, when she stopped her commercial work. The inscription by the artist's daughter on the reverse of this design notes: "This book-plate was a graduation present from my mother to me in June 1930 when I graduated from Vassar College." Customized bookplates had a revival during the Arts and Crafts movement.
