Label TextThe author Mariana Griswold Van Rensselaer (1851 – 1934), formally known by her married name, was an American author, art collector, and critic. She published a series of architectural studies of country homes, including the estate of financier Henry Villard.

Alfred Laurens Brennan specialized in illustrations drawing in ink and won numerous commissions. Master printmaker Joseph Pennell pronounced him "the finest technician in America."
