Label TextJohn Fiske's Old Virginia was a narrative about eighteenth-century Virginia. James Montgomery Flagg was still a student at the Art Students League of New York when he received the poster commission. He would later study in London and Paris, returning in 1900 to begin his long career illustrating books, magazine covers, political and humorous cartoons, and advertisements.
