Label TextThe three Little Pigs is a nursery rhyme that became popular in England and the United States in the 1880s. There are several variants but all include a clever fox determined to devour three pigs. Here he is finally outwitted by the last of three, who escapes that fate by hiding in a butter churn when he sees his enemy approaching. The drawings along the margins show other characters from the tale. Helen Durney also created the illustrations for Harold and Helen Pearl's book "Dumbo the Flying Elephant," which was sold to the Walt Disney Corporation.
