Label TextThis print is taken from a portfolio entitled One Cent Life, produced in 1964 by E. W. Kornfeld in Bern, Switzerland. This portfolio paired the poetry of Chinese-born Walasse Ting with works by 28 European and American artists, including abstract expressionists Sam Francis and Joan Mitchell and pop artists Andy Warhol and Claes Oldenburg. In his poetry and art, Ting attempted to fuse American popular culture and traditional Chinese aesthetics.
