Label TextTo produce this work, Alida Fish digitally combined two photographs: one of a statue on the grounds of the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina and another in which a model replicated the pose of the statue. The sculpture appears come to life, like the statue Galatea animated by Aphrodite in the Greek myth of Pygmalion.
