Label TextGlackens was a master at making quick sketches of his urban encounters. Often made with a waxy pencil or crayon, his sketches covered every conceivable type of paper, from sketch pads to wallpaper samples. He sketched sites as he encountered them in the streets and parks of New York and in his studio overlooking Washington Square Park.
