Label TextIn a story set in mediaeval France, Tiphaine is held captive by her family, who think she is a sorceress (fee). Elizabeh Shippen Green's composition dramatizes Tiphaine's conversation with her knightly rescuer as they declare their love for each other.

A fashion illustrator for The Ladies' Home Journal when she joined Howard Pyle's illustration classes in 1894, Elizabeth Shippen Green accepted an exclusive contract with Harper's Monthly Magazine in 1901. Harper's was at the forefront of high-quality color reproduction.
