Label TextBetween his arrival in New York in 1904 and 1909, Madison Square Park--less than two blocks from his apartment--was Sloan's favorite locale. He painted the park's diverse vistas in day and night scenes, here catching the lights of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Tower coming through the trees in the background.
