Label TextBorn in Honolulu and trained in China, David Paul Chun created many prints for the California Federal Art Project depicting immigrant life and labor in San Francisco. In Shrimp Camp at Hunter's Point, Chun depicts a contemporary American scene – complete with streetlights and telephone wires – with sinuous
mountains and a layered perspective evocative of Chinese landscape painting.
