Label TextThis photograph illustrates the moment when Lancelot presents a diamond necklace, won in a tournament, to Queen Guinevere. It is part of Cameron’s most important body of work, a series of photographic illustrations for Tennyson's Idylls of the King. Beginning in 1874, she produced approximately 180 photographs in preparation for this work. Cameron’s photographs reflect the influence of the Pre Raphaelites.
