Label TextThe artist’s book is encased in a box decorated with paintings of the four seasons. Siddal often addressed the seasons, a popular subject in the history of art, in her poetry. Her monogram appears at the center. A page from a collection of Tennyson poems is pasted on the inside cover. The book is nestled within, accompanied by a period glass apothecary bottle filled with pigment. The box pays homage to the jewel box Siddal decorated for Jane Morris.
