Label TextThere seems to be some question as to the identity of the radiant girl who looks straight at the viewer. Although Sloan identified her as a Miss Sehon in his records, the date of the entry seems to suggest that he referred to a previous painting and Rowland Elzea suggested that the young lady in question is a Miss La Rue, whose likeness can be seen in other paintings and etchings.
