Label TextThe Boy Captive of Old Deerfield was the first of four historical novels in the Old Deerfield Series. The plot revolves around the 1794 attack on the Deerfield, Massachusetts English settlement by Native American and French allies. Captives taken to Canada included 10 year old Stephen Williams, who was held for fourteen months.
