Label TextEdward Gorey is best known for his designs for his animated introductions to Boston Public Television’s Mystery! series. Those comically-macabre characters, however, are just a small part of his half-century career. In this satiric drawing, a group of aspiring authors petition an airborne editor to accept their humorously-titled books. The "ABA 75" wings refer to the 1975 meeting of the American Booksellers Association Convention, covered by Publisher's Weekly.
