Label TextOn January 20, 2017, the We the People series was released online, in newspapers, and in poster form. This corresponded with the United States presidential inauguration of Donald Trump. The series was commissioned by Amplifier, a nonprofit design lab that supports grassroots efforts through art. As artist Shepard Fairey described, the series was meant to encourage people "to find their common humanity" in the wake of divisive political campaigns.
