Label TextBorn into a prominent and progressive Boston family, Perry was raised around art and literature, but she only began to paint seriously in her thirties, after the birth of her children. During years in Paris she befriended Claude Monet, Mary Cassatt, and Camille Pissarro, and adopted an impressionist style. Through her own work and as an organizer of exhibitions, Perry promoted impressionism in the United States.
