Label TextAlthough this little drawing is inscribed c.1889, in Helen Farr Sloan's writing, it seems more likely to date from 1893 to 1895 when Sloan was learning to use brush and ink. The poem--an advertising jingle for a clothing store--is similar to the kind of writing he did for the Bradley Coal advertisements in about 1895.
