Label TextRobert Michael Jones attended Christiana High School before receiving his bachelor of fine arts degree in 1973 from the University of Delaware. He began exhibiting while in school, and did so more extensively after graduation, with solo presentations of his polyurethane and Fiberglass sculptures in the University’s Smith Hall, in the Haas Gallery at Bloomsburg State College in Pennsylvania (March 1973), and in the Delaware Art Museum’s 59th Annual Delaware Show (June 8–July 29, 1973). This untitled drawing is typically of the artist's works on paper, many of which were drawn in New York City nightclubs such as The Anvil in the Meatpacking District. Jones captures the blurred movements of the late night dance club scene in the 1980s.
