Label TextOne of Albright's favorite themes was the passing of time, and the artist depicts himself at age 50 as deeply wrinkled around the eyes. Even the still life in front of him--with its flowers, cigarette, and iced beverage--functions as a memento mori, reminding the viewer that time is fleeting and death is inevitable.
