ClassificationsSCULPTURE
Label TextStella Waitzkin began as an Abstract Expressionist painter, studying with Hans Hoffman and Willem de Kooning, before turning to polyester resin sculpture in the 1960s and early 1970s. It was then that she began creating an apartment-filled installation, titled Details of a Lost Library, in her Chelsea Hotel residence in New York. These works illustrate her primary interest—the book.
