Label TextAmerica's only railroad carnival, James E. Strates Shows, dates back to 1923. The show, which includes some 400 employees, travels the United States during a seven-month touring season.

The photograph's composition--the way the shape of the amusement ride echoes the shape of the mohawk, in particular--make this an outstanding photograph.
