Label TextUniversity of Delaware graduate and World War One bomber pilot Walter Willloughby studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts before his work for the Public Works of Art Project. Willoughby's imaginitive Bookland depicts illustrations from children's stories come to life in a fantastical library setting, a dreamlike departure from the naturalistic compositions produced by other Delaware artists on the Project.
