Label TextThis sheet has two drawings--one of artist Robert Henri and a second of a turtle and a tree. These were made by Japanese artist-reporter Beisen Kubota on October 5th, 1893, in Philadelphia as a demonstration of a Japanese brushwork technique. Henri and John Sloan, also in attendance, would experiment with the technique over the following year.
