Label TextSloan's etchings impart his love of drawing. Unlike many other artists who worked in the medium, he tended to rely on line alone rather than a combination of line and plate tone, the result of creative inking and wiping techniques. His approach demanded a wide variety of drawing strokes and careful control of the biting of the plate.
