Label TextWilliam Zorach's daughter Dahlov often served as the subject of his sculpture. In this work, his first stone carving, he exaggerated the smooth rounded forms of her young face and the waves of her hair to create a stylized sculpture that is, surprisingly, both tender and modern. Dahlov Ipcar grew up to be a talented artist and illustrator.(Heather Campbell Coyle, 2007)
