Label TextHere Steinlen's illustration is inspired by a song with words by Léon Durocher and music by Désiré Dihau. Steinlen's earliest published illustrations related to popular songs, and he would design for concert posters and sheet music throughout his career. Indeed, an alternate version of this image had been used on the sheet music for this song in 1894.
